This fifteen-minute tutorial provides a run-down of the basic and most frequent function that Adobe InDesign has to offer. The author of the video goes into quick detail on how to open the program, place content on the page, and completed the tutorial with a finished layout to demonstrate how easy and assessable this program is.
Tools that I find easy to use are the Window panel functions such as layers, selection tool, and the text panel. I also found useful the tips and tricks on how to operate in pages as layout making it the primary purpose for this program. What I find potentially difficult for me is the grids. I am bad with measurements, and I feel like I would be a bit confused on where and how to place them.
This is a fun, entertaining, and beginner friendly fifteen-minute video featuring different InDesign tips and tricks in alphabetical order. Starting from the definition of Autosave to the Zoom tool the video's author briefly and directly covers the basics of all the tool that the program has to offer.
The tool that I found easy are Fill, Stroke, and Shape Tool as they are identical to Adobe Illustrator. I am looking forward towards having an upper hand in this program as it is more similar to something that we covered in the beginning of the semester. What I found a bit confusing were the type of tool options such as Kerning, Leading, and Tracking. They belong in the same tool family and are very useful when working with text, but they are just very specific with their functions.
This very quick video for Adobe InDesign beginners covers the Workspace options, Tool Bar, Color Modes, Layers, and more. It was very easy to follow and once again displayed how similar InDesign is the Illustrator which I am happy about.
What I found very useful is how the speaker emphasized keeping track of your layers. Especially since InDesign is like a digital form of scrapbooking and it is important to know what shape is located and where to find it. I like how he demonstrated how when used correctly its very useful it can give the editor a major advantage. What I found a bit challenging is the Artboard panel. It is similar to layers but appears hidden and I can see how it can be easy to confuse the two and place things in the wrong place unintentionally.
