This video is a quick ten-minute summary about Illustrator tools. Then the author does a run-down of vector vs raster images and how to get started in the program. He then goes over the basics such as the workspace, header, control bar, document tabs, and of course the tool bar. I feel like a difficult part is always starting, and that might be carried over to learning how to put in the correct preset details. If the measurements are wrong, then the overall project might be deemed as wrong (just from the way we started). I also find the direct selection tool to be a little confusing and intimidating since it contributes to so much movement. What I find interesting about this video is how well done the formatting is, I see it as a very good and quick recap of the basics in illustrator.

This is another quick and well-organized beginner video. The creator of this video spends most of the five minutes working with the rectangle tool and the ways on how to transform the shape with the scaling ability and keyboard keys to change the shape. I still find it a bit confusing when is it correct to use the direct selection tool and when to just use the selection tool. I think the lasso tool is easy to use since it simply selects the space inside the shapes. What I find good about this video is how specific it is to work with shape manipulation. That will be useful.

As the title portrays this video is not specifically geared towards beginners but more towards already “established’ designers in illustrator, however I found it has some useful tips to start implementing as a beginner. For example, like using the lasso tool to combine shapes and the simple command to rotate the arc from the arc tool. I learned how simple it is to smooth out a pencil line with the Smooth pencil tool. In this video I found it helpful and interesting how these mini simple hacks can improve and quicken my design skills.
